PROMO WANTS TO HEAR YOUR STORY

Have you been discriminated against in school or in the workplace or been denied housing or access to public accommodations?

PROMO wants to hear your story. Your stories would be used to show actual situations of discrimination in the state of Missouri. These stories will help to pass the Missouri Safe Schools Legislation and the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act (MONA).

If you have been discriminated against in your school, fired from your job, denied a lease or access to housing or public accommodations on the basis of actual or perceived characteristics, such as race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or a mental, physical or sensory disability, or on the basis of association with others identified by these categories, WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY.

For confidentiality, please email your stories to Stephanie@PROMOonline.org.
You may also call the SWMO Regional Field Organizer, Stephanie Perkins, at 417.291.6569 to talk about your story.

PROMO is Missouri's statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and Transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, and community education.

Visit www.PROMOonline.org for more information about Missouri Safe Schools and MONA.

Please share this with your organizations, friends, and families. PROMO wants to collect as many stories as possible before the hearings!

WHY KNOT ST. LOUIS?

From the folks over at www.whiteknot.org:

The White Knot is the symbol for marriage equality. Wear it every day to show your support and to create conversation. Use it to tell someone today that equal rights are important to everyone. Share the White Knot and spread the word that all loving couples deserve the same legal rights, benefits, and respect that civil marriage bestows.

Visibility is the goal. See where White Knots are appearing.

Whether you are gay, straight, or otherwise, please show your support by wearing the Knot and telling people why you are wearing it. Wear your White Knot to work, to school, to your place of worship. Together, we will keep the topic at the top of people's minds and keep the conversation going.

COUPLES NEEDED

ShowMe No Hate is trying to identify unmarried, committed same-sex couples who are from the St. Louis community and willing to speak to the media about their story and present the local face to the issue of marriage discrimination. The couples will ideally be diverse and long-term couples. It is really wonderful if couples can bring their families (children, grandchildren, parents, siblings) to join in the call for marriage equality.

If you fit the above description please email us at ShowMeNoHate@gmail.com
