Evan Wolfson, Executive Director of Freedom to Marry, will present
Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality, and Gay Peoples Right to Marry, at Washington University Law School Wed, Nov. 19, at noon in the Bryan Cave Courtroom.

A leader of the marriage equality movement in the U.S., Wolfson is a nationally recognized gay rights advocate and former attorney for the Lambda Legal Defense & Education Fund. Wolfson was co-counsel in the Hawaii same sex marriage case, Baehr v. Muke; argued Boy Scouts of America v. Dale in the U. S. Supreme Court; and has litigated cases involving lesbian and gay military personnel, gay parents, and gay public employees. Author of Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality, and Gay Peoples Right to Marry, Wolfson will do a book signing immediately following his talk. This event is co-sponsored by Washington University Law School Public Interest Law & Policy Speaker Series, OUTLAW and Allies, the Student Bar Association Diversity Committee, and the Family Law Society.
