LIGHT UP THE NIGHT FOR EQUALITY DEC 20TH

On December 20th, St. Louis (ShowMeNoHate) along with 180 cities join together in a night of solidarity as a part of a nation-wide demonstration to bring awareness about the November 4th passing of the California Proposition 8.

Candlelight vigils will be held at commercial centers in cities across the country in remembrance of the rights that once were for 18,000 marriages, and in honor of the rights that one day will be again - for EVERYONE.

In St. Louis, we ask you to participate in following ways:
  • Place votive candles in your house windows, on your porch steps, or in front of your apartment door. We strongly recommend using new battery operated candles for safety reasons. Talk to your neighbors to gather support, ask them to put out some candles for this special evening.
or

  • Participate in the local St. Louis peaceful Candlelight Vigil:
6:00pm in the St. Louis County in the University City Loop

Meet in front of the Lion Pillars near Trinity and Delmar. Once we gather and light our candles we can start walking east on Delmar (toward Skinker) and then walk back to the Lion Pillars by 7:00pm. We could then gather outside E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall just in time for those to attend the FREE BandTogether's Winter Holiday Concert.

Make sure you download the artwork to handout on December 20th.
