PEACEFUL COUNTER PROTEST OF PHELPS HATE MACHINE

Westboro Baptist Church (Fred Phelps family church based out of Kansas), on Monday November 2nd, will be protesting Marquette High School, located 2351 Clarkson Road Chesterfield MO at 7:30am and Hazelwood Central High School, located 15875 New Halls Ferry Road in Hazelwood Missouri at 1:15pm.

It's important we congregate before the Phelps family arrives and position ourselves to block their ability to display their horrific signs toward the children in our schools. We are encouraging folks to make Angel Wings ( click here http://readromaine.com/laramie/angel_action/Become_Angel.pdf ) or to bring large white or colorful fabric stretched on polls with nothing written on them. We can pull these sheets together and simply surround the Phelps entourage signage thus blocking their hate.

This is a peaceful counter protest so no graphic signs please! Just our presence will act as the best image of peace, love and unity. The colors white, blue, purple and pink are wonderful choices to represent peace and love; however, the rainbow also symbolizes the most universal image of peace.

Let's show our youth that we can love, protect and support them when faced by bigots and hateful folks like those outside their Schools on Monday November 2nd, 2009.

Since Phelps is coming to town specifically to protest GSA's (Gay, Straight Alliances) in High Schools and we think Phelps should help raise some money for LGBT youth. So if you cannot attend these peaceful protests, please consider making a donation in honor of Fred Phelps to Growing American Youth using the link below:

We will be sure to send him a thank you card!
