MARCH AGAINST VIOLENCE

JOIN THE ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY AGAINST ALL VIOLENCE

Following the recent news of violence against three members of our community, many people are left angry, sad and even motivated to come together.

“If I turned around every time somebody called me a faggot, I’d be walking backward – and I don’t want to walk backward.” - Harvey Milk

Violence happens everyday to women, African-Americans, Latinos, Jews, transgendered, children, disabled, senior citizens, Natives, Muslims, homeless, Christians, gays, lesbians and many others who suffer at the hands of an abuser.

On Tuesday December 1st, 2009 several community organizers led by Bert Coleman, came together to organize a united St. Louis answer to violence and hate. In our efforts to mobilize and respond quickly, we are encouraging you at the very least join our candlelight Vigil, March and Rally along Manchester Avenue.

The schedule of the evening is as follows:

07:00 pm - Candlelight vigil against all forms of hate (Corner of Manchester & Boyle front of Ernies 32)

07:15 pm - March down Manchester Avenue

07:30 pm - Rally at Manchester & Vandeventer (near Commerce Bank) Speakers TBA

08:00 pm - NOH8 Project Fundraiser @ Nancy's Place, 4510 Manchester Avenue

10:00 pm - Glitterbomb Benefit Show @ The Complex, 3511 Chouteau Avenue

Please bring candles for the march and please wear RED hats, scarves, gloves or other RED items to show solidarity for those victimized in our community.
