On March 12th, 2010 another 17 same-sex couples left St. Louis to obtain their marriage licenses in Iowa City, Iowa. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and we received a warm reception from everyone in Iowa City. To date our 3 Show Me Marriage Equality Buses have transported 48 couples to Iowa City and helped another 50 couples make the trip.
Our "Love Bus" is leaving again, Friday May 7th. We already have 8 couples on board; however, we are looking for a more. The 55-seat bus we rent can hold up to 20 couples, 5 clergy and a handful of photographers, journalists and family members.
